What's the difference between a Wedding Planner, Wedding Coordinator, and Day-of Coordinator?

💍 Wedding Planner

Start-to-finish partner in the planning process

  • Hired early in the planning process (often 12+ months out)

  • Helps select vendors, venues, design concepts, and budgets

  • Manages contracts, timelines, and communication throughout

  • Guides decision-making, schedules tastings, fittings, walk-throughs, etc.

  • Often involved in full design and décor planning

  • Ideal for couples who want expert help from day one

  • Cost: Typically $5,000- $10,000 + Sometimes even $50,000+ for high end weddings

📅 Wedding Coordinator

(aka Month-of Coordinator)

(This is what I do)

Steps in closer to the wedding day to tie everything together

  • Typically starts work 4–8 weeks before the wedding

  • Reviews all contracts and vendor details

  • Creates the wedding day timeline

  • Communicates with all vendors to confirm logistics

  • Oversees rehearsal and manages the wedding day

  • Great for couples who planned most things themselves but want support to pull it all together

  • Cost: Range from $2,000- $5,000. Sometimes up to $6,000 depending on the scope

🎉 Day-of Coordinator

(Misleading name—more like “Month-of Lite”)

**I choose not to offer true "day-of coordination" because, in my experience, I naturally step in to do far more than that role typically allows. I’m a perfectionist by nature, and I genuinely believe your wedding day should be seamless and thoughtfully executed.

Too often, I’ve found myself fixing avoidable issues that could have been prevented with earlier involvement. By starting the coordination process well before the big day, I’m able to ensure every detail is aligned—allowing you to fully relax and enjoy the moment.**

Focuses on execution, not planning

  • Usually steps in 30 days or less before the wedding

  • Manages the wedding day schedule and vendor arrival

  • Coordinates ceremony processional and reception flow

  • Handles last-minute issues and behind-the-scenes logistics

  • Doesn't help with planning, booking vendors, or design

  • Perfect for couples who fully planned their wedding and just need someone to manage the day

  • Cost: Generally $1,500- $3,000, though packages vary from $800 - $3,500 depending on services
